Return to Giant
55 min - 1996| Documentary
In the summer of 1955, an army of Warner Bros. crew and stars descended upon
the small Texas town of Marfa to film “the national movie of Texas,” Giant. Elizabeth
Taylor, James Dean and Rock Hudson lived among the locals for nearly two months
before heading back to Hollywood. This is the story of that special summer, with
home movies and photos taken by the Marfa locals. Narrated by Don Henley, it’s, “a
surprisingly haunting slice of Americana.”
Q&A with filmmaker Kirby Warnock following the show.
